The Dixie Lowfers are a traditional 6 piece Dixieland Jazz band.
The band was formed in 2004 by Andy Lowe, Sousaphone, and his son James who plays trumpet.
Band line up is Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Sousaphone, Banjo and drums
We specialise in the syncopated rhythms associated with Dixie Music which first became popular at the beginning of the 20th century through Nick La Rocca and his Original Dixieland Jass Band
Our repertoire ranges from Livery Stable Blues (the first ever recording of Dixie Jazz in 1917) and Battle Hymn of the Republic, through to When the Saints and Sweet Georgia Brown.
